Often my clients ask me, "How often should I get facials?" It's a great question, because it depends on your skin, your individual concerns, and your age. Together we can create a custom treatment plan that suits your needs and gives you your best skin ever.
What do facials do?
Each facial treatment is unique and customized just for your skin and your needs. But every facial has one thing in common: luxurious, deep relaxation. A facial:
- Deep-cleans your skin
- Softens dull skin
- Removes dry skin with gentle exfoliation
- Unclogs your pores
- Firms and hydrates
A facial leaves your skin glowing, and there are real benefits to getting them regularly — increased circulation and collagen production, clearer skin, and a smoother, more even texture.
What happens during a facial?
- A deep double-cleanse under gentle warm steam, softening dirt and oil in the pores before it's removed with a hot steam towel
- Professional exfoliation — often a hydrating enzyme that dissolves dead skin cells to reveal fresh skin beneath
- Skin analysis under a magnifying lamp, so we can talk through your specific needs and concerns
- Extractions to unclog pores where needed, with communication every step of the way
- Customized finishing touches — soothing or hydrating masks, LED light, cooling ice globes, or dermaplane, chosen for your skin that day
Every treatment includes professional cleansing and exfoliation, upper body and facial massage, custom serums, moisturizer, SPF, and a lip balm finish.
How often should you get a facial?
We typically recommend a facial every 4 weeks, though everyone's needs are a little different — a consultation is the best way to find your rhythm.
Could you have a facial more often than that? Yes — weekly facials are an option if you want to reach your goals faster, though that's not always the right call for more sensitive skin types. We'll help you balance your skin goals with what makes sense for you.
A few things that affect your ideal frequency
- What's your primary concern, and what does your current home-care routine look like?
- Mature skin dealing with dryness, fine lines, or rough texture generally does well every 4–6 weeks, often alternating a hydrating facial with a gentle chemical peel
- Acne at any age usually starts with a full consultation. If there's a lot of congestion to work through, we often start every 2 weeks, then shift to a maintenance rhythm every 4 weeks once your skin starts to clear
Do facials actually work?
Yes — your skin will feel and look better immediately after treatment. Facials help with fine lines, hydration, acne, redness, and general stress relief, all at once. It's genuinely one of the most effective forms of self-care available, and we take a mindful, unhurried approach to every visit.
